Xbox Game Rentals

The year that passed has witnessed a meteoric growth in the online game rentals. That said, what is uncertain is the nature of the various online rental companies and whether they support your specific gaming console.

Our team conducted extensive research on a vast number of online gaming clubs to ascertain which one hosts the best range of Xbox games. Quality points were awarded to those clubs that housed the best range of recent releases, hard-to find games and of-courser, the classic Xbox games. From among the 7 game clubs, it was deduced that only 3 of these qualified to be put to test.  The clubs that made the list were – Intelliflix, GameFly and Gottaplay.

Intelliflix

Intelliflix certainly has managed to tap into a market that some gamers could have only dreamt of some years ago. This implies games, movies and adult titles all under one ‘roof’. That said their range of Xbox rentals weren’t as impressive as the other two. However, it is still worth a mention.

Recent Releases: Carrying most new releases and have displayed information of anticipated     releases.

Hard-to-find Titles: Carrying a wide range of games, some of which we were not even aware of.

Classic Games: Carrying a wide array of the good old classic games.

GameFly

GameFly has been ahead of the pack for quite a while and it also was the first company to advertise their service to the public. Not only is it the oldest company, but it is also often considered the leader in this industry.

Recent Releases: Carrying every single new release. Along with this, it also had the latest reviews, walk through and    even cheats of all the games.

Hard-to-find Titles:  Games that were unheard of were part of their selection.

Classic Games: It was almost impossible to find any Xbox title that was not a part of their selection. A very exhaustive inventory.

Gottaplay

Gottaplay is soon becoming a force to reckon with in this industry of online rental games. Apart from hosting a very impressive selection of games, they were the first company to incorporate offering phone support to their customers.

Recent Releases: Carrying every single new release.

Hard-to-find Titles:  Games that were unheard of were part of the company’s inventory.

Classic Games: Games of the past such as Soul Caliber, Halo and similar classics are part of the company’s  impressive selection.

Rules For The Card Game, Spades

PLAYERS: Four, in two partnerships. (For two-hand version, see below.)

CARDS: The pack of 52. The cards rank A (high), K, and so on. Spades are always trumps.

THE DEAL: Each player gets thirteen cards, dealt one by one.

BIDDING: Beginning with the dealer, each player successively bids the number of tricks he anticipates to win, out of the total possible of thirteen. His bid, and his partner’s, establishes the contract of the partnership. The total doesn’t have to equal thirteen tricks.

A player could choose to bid Nil, signaling the intention not to win any tricks. After a player has bid Nil, he puts down three cards from his hand, face down, in the center of the table. If his partner has already bid, his partner then passes him three cards from his hand and picks up the three discards; otherwise, partner should wait until after he has bid to exchange.

Prior to looking at his hand, a player may bid Double Nil, thereby doubling up bonuses or penalties, and substitute three cards with his partner as in bidding Nil. If both partners bid Nil (or Double Nil), there is no exchange.

THE PLAY: Eldest hand heads first and may lead whatever suit aside from spades, which may not be led till the suit has been “broken” by a spade discard on a previous trick (unless the player has no other suit to lead). Players should follow suit when possible. A trick is won by the highest trump or by the highest card of the suit led. Every trick is kept by the player winning it.

SCORING: The object of the game is to accomplish the contract bid by the partnership. When one partner has bid Nil, his contract and his partner’s are scored individually, and then the scores are combined.

Tricks count 10 points each for a partnership when the contract is made, 10 against if it is set. (Minus scores are possible.) Tricks won in surplus of the contract count 1 each. A bid of Nil scores a bonus of 100 points if made or a penalty of that quantity if set Double Nil scores 200 points bonus or penalty.

When both partners bid Nil (or Double Nil) the partnership receives 200 points if both attain their contracts, but there is no score if either or both are set.

GAME comprises of 500 points. If both sides go over 500 points in the same hand, the side with the larger total score is the winner.

Spades for Two

There is no deal. The cards are shuffled and cut and set face down in the center of the table to form the stock. One player gets the top card from the stock. (Turn to start interchanges between the players.) If he prefers to keep it, he then looks at the second card of the stock and puts it face down to start the discard pile; if not, he discards his first card prior to looking at the second, and then draws and keeps the second card. Both players in turn discard one card and hold on to one card in this manner till the whole stock has been depleted, at which point each would have a hand of thirteen cards. The discard is then put aside and not used in subsequent play.

Double Nil should be bid before a player has drawn any cards. In all other respects, bidding, play, and scoring are as in Spades.

Moms And Dads: Xbox Games For You

If you are a parent whose kid is hooked onto playing with the Xbox online then you are probably used to hearing them screaming with excitement at their television screen. You would have perhaps noticed how thrilled the kids are playing shooting games or the role-playing games.  If you are the kind that enjoys playing Halo then you are going to love playing it online, like your kid and that’s probably what your kid has been telling you as well.

To get started, all you will need is a computer with an internet connection and a subscription in-order to create your own account.  Once this is sorted, you can get online and commence playing with your online buddies.  Like in the case of any sport, the more you practice and play, the better you get. For example, kids who play games online manage to clock in the most incredible number of hours. The statistics according to Counterstike indicate that kids spend over 50 hours every week on playing online games.

The other category of games that you might find kids being interested in is the flash games. I would personally play a whole lot of flash games when I was in school. After my friends and I had finished our work we would go to the class-rooms with computers in them and play the flash games. We would browse and search for some games that looked interesting and we would then go back home, log in to real servers and play these games online.

If you already own an Xbox or a Sony Play Station then you probably are accustomed to the concept of online gaming. All one needs to do is register and sign up for this service and play those games that are already enabled to be played online.  Most of the online games are similar to Halo 3 or Gears of War. You can also find shooting games like Call of Duty or their recent version Modern Warfare. Although, I am not completely sure that latter is online enabled. However, I am sure that you can play it online.  These games are exciting and it’s all about team-effort to shoot out the opponents. There are also the role-playing games like Final Fantasy but they are not designed to be played on the Internet. Personally, I am not into these fable games and others alike; online gaming is most suitable for shooters.

Card Games For Kids: Pig, Beggar, And Slapjack

PIG

Pig is a favorite “ice-breaker” for huge parties, whether of kids or adults. Any number of people could play, up to thirteen, and the more, the merrier.

From a regular deck, take four cards of a rank for every player in the game. For instance, having seven players, take the aces, deuces, and so on up to sevens, casting aside all higher cards. It does not matter what ranks you select.

After shuffling, deal the cards out one at a time, thence giving for each one player four. The entire play comprises in switching cards. All players take a card from their hands and place it to the left, then all at the same time pick up the cards they find at their right. In fact, it isn’t important to keep these exchanges synched. The “ice-breaking” function is that the etiquette of the game allows the player to shout at his right-hand neighbor, “Hurry up, I’m waiting!”

If any player acquires four cards of the same rank into his hand, he should stop passing cards and place a finger to his nose. Every other player, on seeing this act, must promptly stop and place a finger to his nose. The last to comprehend that the game is all over is a Pig, and is generally required to pay a forfeit.

BEGGAR-YOUR-NEIGHBOR

This game depends solely on the luck of the shuffle. Two play. Every player receives half of the pack, face down. Nondealer shows up a card from the top of his packet and lays it on the table. Dealer then shows up a card from his packet and places it on the other. Play goes on in the same way till a face card or ace shows up.

When one player shows a high card, the other should place on it: four cards for an ace, three for a king, two for a queen, one for a jack. When the high card casts its quota in lower cards (ten or lower), the player of the high card gets the entire common pile, puts it face down under his packet, and goes for a new series of plays. But if a face card or ace comes out in the course of playing the quota on an opponent’s high card, the duty is reversed, and the opponent should give a quota. This alternation keeps on until a player wins the pile.

The player who acquires the entire pack into his hands wins the game. This may happen in a “run-through” or the game may continue for a while.

SLAPJACK

Suitable for two to eight players. This game could get wild—we won’t recommend using your best deck of cards for it!

Deal the cards out one at a time till the pack is entirely dealt. It is okay if some players have more cards than others. Every player keeps his cards in a pile face down in front of him. Each in turn, starting with player to dealer’s left, shows up one card from the top of his pile and lays it in a common pile in the center of the table. Whenever a jack is turned, the first player to slap it gets all the cards in the common pile and places them at the bottom of his pile. The next player starts a new common pile. The object of play is to win all 52 cards.

When a player loses his entire stock, he stays in the game till the next jack is turned. If he slaps it first, he goes on to play with the cards won; but when he fails, he is out of the game. The last player left in the game is the winner.

These rules must be rigorously enforced (to avoid mayhem!): (1) Cards should be turned up from the stock away from the owner, so that he doesn’t get a peek before the others. (2) Turning cards and slapping should be done using the same hand. (3) When several slap at once—and they constantly do!—the lowermost hand, touching the jack, wins. (4) If a player slaps a card which is not a jack, he should give one card from his file, face down, to the player of the jack; the penalty card is placed at the bottom of the receiver’s pile.

How to Win at the Pokemon Trading Card Game

First you need a good number of energy cards your deck.  Since you are only allowed to have 60 cards total in your deck, you need to pick each card strategically.  Anywhere from 25-35 of the cards in your deck should be energy cards.

To win at the pokemon trading card game you need to have a lot of basic pokemon.  An average deck should have about 10-15 basic pokemon depending on your strategy.  If all your pokemon are second and third level, you may never get a chance to play them!

That being said, you want to have 2 or three really strong pokemon in your deck.  These will usually be the second or third evolution, but make sure you have enough basic pokemon to play them!  These will be the powerhouse of your deck.  Every deck needs a few of these to be able to compete.  The goal is once you get this out, you basically win the game.

Work with the same pokemon.  Having 2 or 3 of the same card in your deck is not a bad idea—in fact it just may help you win your pokemon card match.

If you are have a pokemon in your deck that needs to evolve twice, you should have 4 of the first evolution, and 2-3 of the second.  You might have another 1-3 of the final evolution depending on the strategy of your deck.

Finally, use trainer cards wisely.  Don’t underestimate their importance, they could just give you the edge in the match and help you win your pokemon battle!

You Can Have Xbox Games on The 360 Console

4028387521 46e3129492 m You Can Have Xbox Games on The 360 Console
by mroach

Backward compatibility- the most basic problem that is encountered as a result of the continuous improvements in the technology of gaming consoles.  Previously, the latest versions of a game console would not be compatible with the games used on its predecessor. The Xbox 360 allows you play the Xbox games on the 360 version of the console.

One of the ways that permits you to play either version of these games is by using the Live system to update your gaming console. It is essential however, that you have a broadband connection that is available. The process is extremely simple. All you will need to do is connect your game unit to the broadband connection which in-turn will enable you to update the system. Once this is done, you can commence playing the original Xbox 360 games. Moreover, this will let you stay updated about all the recent additions to the games. That said, you will obviously require a Live account – either a Gold or Silver membership package.

Another way in which you will be able to play Xbox games on the 360 console is by the help of DVD/CD burning. This is especially helpful for those that don’t have a broadband connection. Instead, only a dial-up connection would suffice to complete the download. All you will need to do is visit  Xbox.com, download the game and then burn it on your DVD/CD. This technique is just as simple a burning a music/audio CD.

The last technique is to simply place an order from  Xbox.com. This facility would however, be available only till early December. For some, it may just seem like the most convenient option. This disc will include all the updates required to ensure that the system has backward compatibility.  Apart from that, the disc will also allow you keep the operating system of the gaming console updated.

Finally, I must mention that this feature of backwards compatibility is extremely resourceful. Firstly, it ensures that the gaming device is not rendered obsolete. In other words, the feature of backwards compatibility ensures that the gaming console can still different versions of the games. Also, it saves every gamer his/her money from going to complete waste. However, that said, this feature is only limited to the Xbox 360 and the Xbox. If its success is anything to go by, this is one technological development that has the potential to dictate the future advancements.

Playing the ?Liar? Card Game

Everyone should know that it is a sin to tell a lie, but what can we do? Most of us poor humans have fallible characters and we are often tempted to tell an untruth. Here is a way to satisfy the urge to lie and for it to not be a sin, but merely part of the game, and you might win to boot. (To boot) is Australian for (as well). For more Aussie Slang see my article, http://www.ehow.com/how_4594612_speak-strine.html

The aim of the game is to be the first to get rid of all your cards. This is done by placing them face down on the table and nominating what they are.

The deck is dealt until all the cards are finished, and then the designated player, usually to the left of the dealer begins. he/she will select as many cards of one kind as possible and place them face down on the table, and nominate what they are.

For instance, he/she might say, “Four kings” and place the cards down. The other players can then do the same with their cards, by putting down as many as they wish. At the point when a player tables cards the other players have the opportunity to accuse them of being a ‘Liar’ At this point the cards that he/she put down are checked and if the lie is proved then all the cards are picked up, if however, it was not a lie, then the accuser must pick up all the cards.

The game continues in this vein until there is a winner. Players must keep an eye on every other player in case they place all their cards down in one turn and win the game.

In keeping with the name of the game ‘Liar’ one can put down as many cards as one thinks one can get away with. For example he/she can say, “Four Aces,” but also slip another couple of cards in as well. Players should be wary that this doesn’t happen.Playing the ‘Liar’ Card Game

Easy to Play And Download “free Online Games”

Downloading online games is a well liked activity these days as Internet is being used increasingly as a source of amusement. People play freeware games or you can say free online games as these games deliver some worth to the user which has been the main reason of their popularity. Online games turn out to be popular in the 90′s, when people started buying computers. Those were the early days of online gaming, even when freeware games give exceptional game play with lot of fun.

Most of the readers would agree with me, if I say that Freeware games are exciting and exhilarating enough to make you addictive. There are a number of online games available today that offers excitement and great fun with their universal appeal and unique graphics. They involve a wide variety of activities in them which enable players of all age groups from kids to youngsters to indulge in the games. There are free online games for kids specially designed for them, which they love to play.

The basic motivation behind being addictive to freeware online games is the fact that they are entirely free of cost. This is the most compelling reason for online games obsession. Moreover, these freeware games are easy to download and set up and moreover can be accessed without any hassle.

Most popular online games today are based on simple principles, they will let you run virtual farms, plants and grow, cultivate your own crops that you can turn around and sell to make funds that you can further use to grow your own virtual world. Sometimes these free games do not even need to be installed on your computer, just open the site and you can begin playing.

Many times I wonder why these games are as popular as they are.

One can find countless websites that has hundreds of freeware online games; you just need a simple web search. Once you start to play, you can easily get hooked. People start to get competitive with themselves and try to beat their own time.

Have you ever think, if these online games are free of cost then what a website owner actually get. Here is the answer-

Free online games make their money from advertisers on the webpage. Games may have advertisements on or around, some free games have advertisements that you have to click or go through in order to play the game. The advertisers disburse money to keep the website running and thus the software that requires the user to view ads while playing the game, it is technically not called freeware but adware.

Freeware Games are free of charge, easily downloadable and played free of charge on the Internet. “Freeware” is different from the word “shareware”. Shareware requires a payment if the software or a game is to be used past a trial date. Freeware games are functional for an unlimited time with no cost. The author usually restricts one or more rights to copy and distribute.

There are many websites that offer downloading online games both Freeware and shareware, some major sites like download free games, Gamehouse, realarcade. PopCap has been trusted from long time. They have a collection of best shareware and freeware games available into one location.

Some online gaming sites do require registration process before playing the game, however they do not charge for their services. These websites pay more attention on the graphics and special effects rather than unique game play. There are a number of games that resembles each other and sometimes they are just carbon copies of each other.

There are two options to download an online game on your pc. As stated earlier, first is the free option and it can take a long time to download full version of the game. Sometimes the outcome is really weird as you notice that the downloaded game is totally different of what you were expecting it to be.

The second alternative is to join a website that will permit you to download games for pc. You have to pay membership fee once and the website let you download as many games in the full version as you desire.
